Tips for Visiting Vrindavan & Braj
What to Carry
Comfortable walking shoes, modest clothing, a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat or scarf for sun and temple visits, and a small bag for shoes at temple entrances.
Health Tips
Stay hydrated, especially in summer. Carry basic medications. Street food in Braj is largely vegetarian. Eat at clean establishments. The local sweets (pedha, rabri) are a treat.
Money & Payments
Carry cash in small denominations. UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe) is widely accepted at shops. ATMs are available in Vrindavan and Mathura town areas.
Temple Etiquette
Remove shoes before entering. Dress modestly. Photography may be restricted. Maintain silence in inner sanctums. Follow the queue. Do not touch the deities. Ask before offering anything at the altar.
Safety Notes
Braj is generally safe for visitors. Keep valuables secure in crowded temples. Be cautious of monkeys in Vrindavan — don't carry open food. Travel with a guide for less-visited areas.
